Vivo Y53 entry-level 4G Android launches tomorrow in India

Vivo plans to unveil tomorrow a new Android smartphone for the Indian market that comes under the Vivo Y53 name and a price tag of Rs 9,999 or approximately $150.

The affordable device comes in two color options: Crown Gold and Space Gray. It has a plastic body, a 5 inch display with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution and it’s powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. It’s a budget phone so you can expect just 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD slot (expandable up to 256GB) and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow along with the customized FunTouchOS 3.0 UI on top.

Gizchina News of the week

The Vivo Y53 packs a 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash along with a 5MP front camera for selfies (f/2.2), and a 2500 mAh battery that will hardly give it one day of usage. It measures 144.2 x 71.4 x 7.64 mm, weighs 137 grams and offers full 4G/LTE compatibility with dual SIM support, along with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, USB OTG, FM Radio, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

I just wish it had a fingerprint sensor, especially when compared with its price tag.
