Xiaomi Teases Mi Mix 2S’ Facial Unlock and Scene Detection


Xiaomi Mi Mix has been the line of phones that have always had the cosmetic appeal. And the Chinese phone maker did well by pairing it with great internals, leading to a beautiful device. Succeeding the Mix 2 will be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, 3rd in line on the 27th of March. Xiaomi is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to publicising the Mix 2S. It took to Weibo to tease the facial recognition and scene detection features of the upcoming smartphone.

The facial recognition teaser reveals two major face detection features, accurate identification of user irrespective of any external factors, including but not exclusive, a hat, spectacles, etc. Second, the age of the user would not in any way stop the phone from detecting the user.

The scene detection teaser on the other hand is camera centered. Apparently, the Mix 2S’ camera setup will be able to automatically identify scenes to better adjust lighting and colours. Sounds a lot like the “Auto” mode in cameras. But it might come with some add-ons or better auto-scene detection.

The Mi Mix 2S is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 845. Rumors say that there will be multiple memory variants of the smartphone. 27th is next week, so wellw know for sure then!
