VIVO NEX Poster Showcases On-Screen Fingerprint Scanner

VIVO NEX

When talking about the true full-screen smartphones, the VIVO APEX has been on everyone’s lips. But it was a concept phone, and it would be naïve to think the final version will look like it. This morning, VIVO officially announced that it will hold a conference in Shanghai on June 12 and will release the ‘breakthrough of the future’ – the VIVO NEX.

Looking at the official poster of the forthcoming VIVO NEX, we can notice some key features. Say, it’s obvious the VIVO NEX will continue using the on-screen fingerprint identification technology like the VIVO X20 Plus UD and VIVO X21 UD. Thus, it cancels the half-screen fingerprint approach for some reason and it will become the fifth smartphone with such a feature. As you remember, there are also the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design and the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition.

Apart from this, we see there are no forehead, chin, and borders. Thus the VIVO NEX will be the world’s first smartphone with a true full-screen design. However, the Lenovo Z5 is going to launch on June 5. And maybe it will grab this title earlier. This simply means the phone will adopt the same pop-up front camera technology seen on the VIVO APEX.  As you know, it takes only 0.8s to pop-up when needed and hide when not in use.

We have also heard there will be two variants packed with a Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 710 chips. Thus, the manufacturer may maneuver with the prices and offer this amazing handset to larger masses.

What? I am shocked. More fake Chinese specs of half screen fingerprint sensor is dropped. Next thing you know this thing will have a bigger chin than Jay Leno for the front facing camera and an absurd $700-1000USD price tag. All for a Chinese phone with no support or warranty.
