The wristband + core body design is still the selling point of the Huawei TalkBand B5. That’s why the body can be used as a Bluetooth headset. This feature not only brings more convenience but also greatly improves work efficiency. For example, it is not convenient to use the smartphone during the meeting. So you can still check the voice messages through the Huawei TalkBand B5. In addition, the Huawei B5 Bluetooth headset function also supports caller ID identification.

The band comes with a built-in triple-core audio chip that supports dual-MIC noise reduction. Even in noisy environments such as airports and high-speed rail stations, high-definition voice calls can be obtained. Plus, there is a 108mAh battery, providing up to 6 hours of talk time.

As for appearance, the Huawei TalkBand B5 uses a mechanical watch technology. The main body uses a 316L cold forged stainless steel. It has an IP57 waterproof rating. The wristband width is 18mm, and there are three versions, including business, sports, and fashion styles.

Apart from all the aforementioned features, the band supports HUAWEI TruRelax technology. By analyzing heart rate variability, it can accurately assess the wearer’s stress status and provide biofeedback breathing training service to help users release pressure regulation status.

The Huawei TalkBand B5 also uses a HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring feature. Through the principle of cardiopulmonary coupling dynamics frequency analysis technology, it can monitor the complete sleep structure and identify 6 typical sleep problems. Then, it will suggest personalized sleep services to improve sleep quality.

There is also a sedentary reminder, a voice assistant, a smart/transaction alarm clock, remote control photos, a find phone option, and other user-friendly features.

The sports version of the Huawei TalkBand B5 costs 999 yuan ($148), the business variant comes at 1199 yuan ($178), and the fashion model costs 1499 yuan ($223). They will go on sale on July 19.

6-hour battery life for a smartband or watch is not that good. Imagine you charge it every 6 hours, what if you are trekking or have a long journey. For a smartband 5-day battery life is good enough but for 6 hours – other smartband reaches 20 days of battery without charging.

I believe it says 6 hours talk time, which is about right for any Bluetooth headset with a 108mah battery, and in addition a screen as well.

Standby time and standard usage would surely be similar to other bands with similar capacity battery, if you weren’t using it for BT phone calls.

The real issue here is the ridiculous price, this isn’t a smart watch, nor does it have GPS etc, thus I can buy a Sony Bluetooth SBH-54 for making calls and a Xiaomi MiBand3 and still be $100 USD better off, which greater function and battery.
