Samsung to release a Snapdragon 845 powered Galaxy A soon

The mid-range segment of smartphones has seen in recent times a revolution. With the crescent upgrade in specs, this specific segment was divided into standard mid-range devices and premium mid-range smartphones. Samsung is a company that is greatly interested in expanding its offer for this segment, the company has recently confirmed that it will begin to pack its mid-range offerings with some flagship features.

According to an industry insider, the South-Korean firm is now preparing a Galaxy A smartphone with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Of course, despite the choice of a top-tier processor, the company will price this smartphone below its current flagship offerings. If this is indeed the case, Samsung could be preparing this new powerful mid-range to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone XR.

Considering the current offer of Samsung flagships, it’s safe to assume that this upcoming Galaxy A device will feature a powerful double-camera setup, as well as a taller 18:9 AMOLED display, with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of Storage and Water resistance. Of course, at the moment this is mere speculation. But if Samsung is really interested in upgrading the name of its mid-range smartphones, these specifications would be a good start.

For now, it’s unclear when Samsung will choose to debut this new Snapdragon 845 packed Galaxy A-branded smartphone. But we are curious to see how Samsung will name this, and how it will be priced. Samsung is already preparing a newer smartphone to be called Galaxy A9 Pro, would be perfect if this Snapdragon 845 come marketed as Galaxy A10.
