There is no doubt that 5G networks will become the main theme of the next phase of mobile internet development, this is why phone manufacturers and IPSs are preparing for 5G network commercialization for quite a while now; among them, Huawei is definitely a strong promoter because of their chips and products. After all, they are a company that started with communications.

After the Mate 20 conference that took place in China, Yu Chengdong – Huawei’s executive director – talked about some development plans of Huawei on the 5G network. What is certain – he said – is that in the mobile phone industry, Huawei has a real advantage as far as 5G connectivity goes compared to Samsung and Apple.

Yu Chengdong also said that Huawei is leading in 5G due to their expertise in the communications industry, with their portfolio of network equipment and terminals.

Huawei’s executive then admits the company is investing heavily in this area, with 180,000 people mainly doing communication. This is Huawei’s old business after all, whether we talk about network equipment and terminals, communication, technology, standards, inventions, patents, core product research and development capabilities, chips, and algorithms are all in the company’s hands. Therefore, they have sufficient confidence that Huawei will become a leader of the 5G era, and with a large lead as well.
