Xiaomi Mi 9 might start at around $370, reveals a leaked image

A lot about Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi 9 flagship came to be known to the public since Xiaomi started teasing the device last week. Both official and unofficial channels have shared info about the device right and left. But one of the key mystery elements that remains is the pricing. However, it seems even that won’t quite remain in the dark although Xiaomi will have the final say on day zero.

Above is a leaked poster from Weibo that supposedly look very much like an official banner. If this ends up being legit, then the Mi 9 should start at 2,499 Yuan for the 6GB + 64GB variant. This roughly translates to around $370 which is although a bit more than last year, but still phenomenal for one of the first Snapdragon 855-toting smartphones in 2019. There are two other variants – 8GB + 128GB that would cost 2,899 Yuan ($430) and the top-end version of 8GB + 256GB would cost 3,499 Yuan ($520 approx.).

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi Mi 9

Lei Jun has previously said that the Mi 9 will definitely be more expensive than the Mi 8 because of the fifth-gen in-screen fingerprint reader and the Sony sensor and a couple of other expensive components. Hence, we should at least expect the Mi 9 to cost a bit more. Apart from the prices, the poster also reveals some key specifications which we already have reported earlier
