Huawei Mate 30 Lite will reportedly ship with HongMeng OS out of the box

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has been subject of various headlines in the tech industry for nearly a year now. First over its sour relationship with the US that has even now culminated in the States banning the Chinese firm from all Government contracts. Then over rumors that it has been secretly working on Android alternative – the Huawei HongMeng OS.

Well, that the company is working on releasing its own Operating system isn’t news – it has been confirmed officially. But there has been a couple of controversial reports as to the real intent of the OS. First, a company executive confirmed it is designed for Smartphones, then came reports from a very senior exec that the so-called Huawei HongMeng OS is destined for its Internet of Things (IoTdevices, and not smartphones as peddled.

Now, unofficial reports again suggest that the Huawei HongMeng OS might actually debut in a Huawei phone in the coming month.

The report comes from Slashleaks contributor who alleged that the first Huawei device with its homemade HongmengOS will arrive soon. As per the report, Huawei will in Mid-September release two variants of its Mate 30 Lite. One of the variants will ship with Android 10 Q and EMUI 10 straight out of the box. And another variant with the Huawei HongMeng out of the box. The latter is destined for international markets, while the HongMeng powered variant will be restricted to the Chinese market.

We still don’t know a bunch of things about the purported Huawei HongMeng OS. However, things should become clearer soon as the Chinese firm will be releasing more details in the coming hours.

We have no information to suggest the exact time the Huawei Mate 30 Lite will debut. Though indications are that it will land right before the official introduction of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.

Early reports suggest the device will launch flaunting a 6.26-inch screen with a punch-hole design for a single selfie camera. And on the flip side, it will house a quadruple-camera setup comprising of a 48-megapixel snapper, an 8-megapixel camera of unknown functionality, and two unspecified 2-megapixel sensors.
