Realme X2 256GB variant launches in India with a price tag of $335

Realme, out of the blue, has launched a new storage variant of the Realme X2 smartphone in the Indian market. For those who’re unaware, the smartphone was originally launched back in December 2019. The launch of the new 256GB storage variant was an unexpected move. Well, interested buyers now have a new storage and memory option available.

The Chinese smartphone maker has quietly listed the new storage variant on Flipkart. As mentioned earlier, the new option brings forth the 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. To recall, the device was originally launched in three storage variants – 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB options. All the three original variants come with a price tag of INR 16,999 ($225), INR 18,999 ($255) and INR 18,999 ($265) respectively.

Soon after the launch, the smartphone maker hiked the price tag of the three previous models by INR 1,000 ($13). The new 8GB and 258GB storage will set you back around INR 24,999 (i.e. roughly $335). Realme X2 256GB variant will be up for grabs on July 21 via Flipkart e-commerce website. To recall, Realme recently announced that it will take part in the IFA 2020. The company recently also launched its super-fast 125W fast charging support. It also recently launched its Realme C11 budget smartphone for a price tag of $99.

Specs, Features

Realme X2 arrives with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels having a dew-drop notch. The display also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and has a Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. Under the hood, the device runs on Snapdragon 730G paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard memory.

The chipset is manufactured using 8nm fabrication process having up to 2.2GHz clock speed. In terms of optics, the device has a quad-camera module on the back featuring 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens along with a portrait lens and macro sensor. For selfies and video calling, there is a 32MP front snapper inside the notch.

Powered by 4,000 mAh battery, the device also supports the 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology. Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, audio jack and Type-C port for charging.
