Huawei Mate X2 Screen
This phone changed the external folding mode of the former Mate Xs to inward folding. Now, it comes with a new double helix drop hinge. The latter allows the screen to be stored in an arc shape and avoid hard folding.
The Huawei Mate X2 uses an 8:7.1 golden ratio flexible inner screen. It has overlaid with the first magnetron nano-optical film in the industry. This can reduce the reflectivity to less than 1.5%.

New Hinge
The Mate X2’s double helix drop hinge has a complex structure, using carbon fiber composite materials and high-strength steel. The strength of the zirconium-based liquid metal material used in the hinge can reach 2100MPa. It is 50% higher than the strength of the steel used in automobile B-pillars. Its hinge system uses a variety of high-precision materials and processes. The super-strength steel material is resistant to impact and deformation.
This is the industry’s unique double-rotating water drop hinge. It not only achieves a seamless folding but also ensures minimal bending marks. The double helix water drop hinge can increase the flatness of the screen by 40%. Yu Chengdong also emphasized that the thickness of the thinnest part of the smartphone after unfolding is only 4.4mm. The Huawei Mate X2 sports a 5nm process technology Kirin 9000 chip. It comes with an 8-core CPU clocked at 3.13GHz. The chip integrates a 24-core GPU, and the image processing capability is significantly improved. The Kirin 9000 chip supports 5G super uplink, 5G carrier aggregation, and WiFi 6+.
