On August 17, we will see a new flagship product from iQOO. At the event, the company is planning to uncover the QOO 8 series mobile phones. As you understand, this is going to be a true flagship series with many improvements over the previous generation.

Today, like the previous days, iQOO released a promo teaser showing that the iQOO 8 will become the world’s first to use the E5 high-brightness luminescent material screen. The latter will also have native 1 billion colors, a 2K resolution, and a 517PPI pixel density. Thus, only a few models on the market can vie with it.

In fact, we knew this long before. When the engineering machine leaked, we learned that apart from these parameters, the screen will also support a high refresh rate. The maximum refresh rate of this handset may exceed 120Hz. However, the refresh rate of the screen can automatically fluctuate between 1Hz and >120Hz depending on the use scenarios. Say, when reading text messages, the refresh rate can be as low as 1Hz. But when playing games, the refresh rate may need to be at its highest, 120+Hz. According to reports, the maximum refresh rate may be 144Hz refresh, but we guess this is not the case. We mean it should be much higher. The phone will sport a curved display. Thus, it will use an OLED panel.

From the poster, we can see that the iQOO 8 does not use the under-screen camera. We mean this handset is not going to compete with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and the likes. Instead, it will make a tough competition to other brands’ annual flagships. Well, getting back to the screen design, it has an opening on the middle upper area of the front.

In addition, if you increase the brightness of the poster, you can see that there is a long groove on the top of the iQOO 8. It may be for the speaker or something else.

From previous leaks, we also learned that the iQOO 8 ought to come with the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor. But it’s not going to debut it. Also, it will have a 12GB memory. But the latter will support a memory expansion technology that will get a 4GB memory from the storage and add it the RAM. Of course, our protagonist will run the OriginOS system based on Android 11. As for the camera, the phone will sport an outsole main camera as well as a high-zoom periscope lens. It will support wireless charging and infrared.
