Microsoft Office 2021 to Launch Alongside Windows 11 on October 5

Microsoft has announced today that the 2021 version of its Microsoft Office is going to launch on October 5. The launch timing for this new version of Microsoft Office is the same as the Windows 11 launch, which is also taking place on the 5th of October.

For those unaware, instead of offering a cloud-based experience present on Microsoft 365, Office 2021 offers Office apps after a one-time purchase for a single, one-time cost.

To add to this, Microsoft has also announced the availability of its Microsoft Office LTSC or Long Term Servicing Channel for both macOS and Windows.

What is Windows LTSC?

Windows 11

In case you are wondering LTSC is an enterprise-oriented version of Office 2021, available to both government and commercial customers.

This announcement comes to us via a blog post from Microsoft, wherein it was announced that both office 2021 and Office LTSC will be coming on October 5.

The announcement for both LTSC and Microsoft Office 2021 came in February, with both services being touted as the next generation of Microsoft’s productivity suite.

The versions focus to provide access to Office apps on a standalone method via a one-time payment system with five years of support. Both of these will not get feature updates, something that is common for Microsoft 365.

Curious users will be glad to know that LTSC brings features such as XLOOKUP in Excel, Dynamic Arrays, dark mode across applications and improvements within Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Microsoft Teams Client will also be present.

Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 on October 5 as its next-gen OS for PCs and laptops. The Windows version will come with interface-related changes such as a new taskbar UI and multiple new enhancements. Android apps support will also come soon.

Is Microsoft’s Windows 11 Coming Soon to Laptops?

In other news, Honor is soon going to launch the MagicBook V 14, which according to the company will be the first laptop to run Windows 11 out of the box.  This particular bit of news comes as Honor announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft

The announcement fails to reveal any specifications of the laptop, but going by the name we can tell that this new laptop will be the first of Honor’s V series of laptops and the display will be 14-inches in size.

Certain rumours in relation to the product hint at chances of dual 5MP front-facing cameras, a first for laptops, but, for the complete features and pricing, it seems that we will have to wait.
