Elon Musk will speak to Twitter employees for the first time

Elon Musk

This week, renowned businessman Elon Musk will perform for the first time; at an event in front of the entire Twitter staff. This will be his first such performance since he announced his intention to acquire the company for $44 billion in April of this year, Parag Agrawal, the head of Twitter, said in an internal correspondence.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday and Musk will be answering questions directly from Twitter employees. Last week, the media reported that a vote among shareholders on the sale of the company; will take place by early August. According to Reuters, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed that Elon Musk intends to participate in the general meeting this week.

Ever since Musk announced the purchase, many on Twitter have voiced concerns about the billionaire’s eccentric behavior, which could destabilize the company’s business and hurt its financial performance – he has more than once easily made public statements worth billions of dollars (taking into account the damage suffered by themselves and/or shareholders, holders of cryptocurrencies and other assets).

Elon Musk to speak and answer Twitter employee’s questions soon

In April, Agrawal had to pacify the dissatisfaction of employees during a general meeting; during which team members demanded answers – how exactly management plans to deal with the expected mass layoffs of employees; who do not want to work for Musk.

“I’m tired of hearing about shareholder value and fiduciary duty. What are your honest thoughts about the very high likelihood that many employees will not have jobs after the deal closes?” one Twitter employee asked Agrawal, in a question read aloud during the meeting.

Earlier this month, Musk warned the company that he could pull out of the deal if Twitter didn’t provide the information he needed about the amount of spam and fake accounts on the social network.
