Death Stranding to come via Xbox Game Pass

Death Stranding

The PC version of the Xbox Game Pass Twitter page posted an image that left many people intrigued. The post in question attracted users to check the exchange of profile image on the network. The post apparently was an indication that Death Stranding is on its way to the subscription service catalog.

“Sometimes we just like a good landscape image”, says the post on the social network, accompanied by a screenshot. Twitter users didn’t take long to discover that such a landscape can be found in the PlayStation exclusive – which seems to be a strong indication that the game may even make it to PC Game Pass. Why else would Microsoft post an image of a rival exclusive, right? This is a major milestone that will certainly surprise PlayStation fans.

Worth noting, that Death Stranding never was a true PlayStation-exclusive game. The game reached PC shortly after its launch on PlayStation 4. Now, its arrival on Microsoft’s game pass catalog means that the ties between Kojima Studios and Sony aren’t tight as we’ve expected. As the post was made specifically on the Game Pass profile for PC, without any mention of Xbox, it is possible that the game will only be added to the service’s catalog for computers. That way, Hideo Kojima’s game will remain a PlayStation exclusive on consoles.

More info emerges Death Stranding’s arrival on the Xbox GamePass portfolio is imminent

Today the PC Game Pass Twitter account updated its profile picture again with yet another “hint”. Now, with the same Death Stranding landscape in the rain, it further endorses the rumors. Apparently, Death Stranding is really coming to the service. However, it will come as a weekend surprise.

In addition to that, Xbox Blog’s publication about the August GamePass games says that “more surprises may come at the end of this week”. Therefore, we can see an announcement of Death Stranding for PC GamePass until this Saturday. That will certainly displease the fanboys.

The Xbox Game Pass portfolio is boosting the sales of the recent consoles. We expect Microsoft to make the service even more powerful with new games, day-one launches, and cloud support. To counter this, Sony revamped the PlayStation Plus by offering a high-quality catalog of games. However, the company will not launch new PlayStation titles on day-one.
