There has been a new talking point on social media this morning. A lot of iPhone users are reporting of horizontal flashes on their iPhone screens during boot up. This problem seems to be with users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The worse part of this issue is that users don’t seem to know why it happens. Neither does anyone knows how to fix this issue.

We have seen a thread on Reddit where many users are complaining about the same issue. Most of the reported issues come from iPhone 14 users. Dozens complain that they see one or more green and yellow lines flashing across the display of their iPhones during boot up. iPhone 14 Pro Horizontal Lines

The lines are not permanent lines though. They only see these lines while booting up their iPhones. These lines remain on the display for a few seconds before disappearing just before the device boots up.

Some users have already reported this issue to Apple support team. According to them, Apple support team have confirmed the issue. They however assured users that the horizontal lines on their iPhones has nothing to do with hardware. Apple support says the issue is a software issue. As a matter of fact, they have identified that it is a bug in iOS 16.

Some users have also confirmed that they first saw the issue upon upgrading to iOS 16.2. On Reddit, Apple Support forums and other Apple related forums, some users have also confirmed that the issue came even earlier. Apple Is Working On A Patch To Fix The Horizontal Lines On The iPhone 14 Pro

One user who claimed to have spoken to one of Apple engineers said the company is working on a patch to fix the issue. However, there is no details on this patch. As to whether it will come as an independent patch or an iOS system update.

Currently, Apple is testing the iOS 16.3 with developers and public beta testers. But the iOS 16.3 will not be available until early next year. So, it could be that Apple will release a patch to fix this or users may have to endure until the iOS 16.3 is finally out.
