Microsoft is really putting a lot of spices into the Edge Browser in recent times. The company is determined to grab a fair share of the browser market after several years of being an observer. Recently, we reported that the company has added features such as new side bar and AI search engine to the browser. A new report has it that the Washington based company is working on another exclusive feature for the Edge Browser.

It is reported that Microsoft is secretly testing a new cryptocurrency wallet. The company has built this wallet into the Edge Browser. Hence, you do not need any third-party crypto wallets to hold or manage your digital coins.

A software researcher by name Albacore has shared a screenshot that shows that this new wallet can be used for making Crypto payments, serve as gateway to DeFi and Web3 applications.

The screenshot also displays the user interface of the new cryptocurrency wallet. You could see an explorer for decentralized applications, a news feed and an option to buy cryptocurrency through Coinbase and MoonPay.

Microsoft made an official statement about this new feature during an onboarding process. It reads, “This is a non-custodial wallet, meaning you are in complete control of your funds. We will not have access to your password and recovery key. It is embedded in Edge, making it easy to use without installing any extension”.

On the introductory page of the wallet, Microsoft did not specify the cryptocurrencies that this new wallet supports. However, one screenshot has revealed that users can manually add custom tokens to their wallets.

One good thing about this new wallet is that users can also browse and purchase NFTs from all the popular marketplaces. Microsoft has not officially released the new wallet as the company is still working to perfect it.
