Nowadays, the POCO smartphone lineup does not go beyond a lineup of refreshed Redmi smartphones for global markets. According to a new report, a recent Redmi smartphone will soon get a refresh treatment for other markets besides China. This week, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 15 Pro and 15 Pro+ in China, and according to a new report, it seems that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will launch as POCO M8 Pro outside China.

POCO M8 Pro Specifications and Features

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro+, and a new leak suggests that the Pro+ will soon get a refreshed variant. The global version of the Pro+, in fact, has already been rumored to ship with minor differences compared to its Chinese counterpart. We also believe that the vanilla Pro will get some level of treatment for outside markets.
Firmware details have been revealed by X user PaperKing 13. These leaks reveal the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ global version will have a 6,500 mAh battery and 100W charging. Unfortunately, the global markets keep getting the versions with smaller batteries. The Chinese version has a monster 7,000 mAh battery with 90W charging. Of course, 6,500mAh is still outstanding for battery life.

A Considerable Upgrade Over the M7 Pro

The same firmware also confirms the launch of the device as POCO M8 Pro. The rebranding isn't something new, but it means another take on Xiaomi's strategy. For instance, the POCO M7 Pro was based on the Redmi Note 14. We could expect the M8 Pro to be based on the Redmi Note 15. However, we are getting something better as a rebadged Pro+.
POCO M8 Pro
As a rebrand, the POCO M8 Pro will feature a 6,500 mAh battery and will use OmniVision's OVX8000 main camera paired with an 8 MP ultrawide. We are curious to see if the new device will get the same chipset as the Pro+. The Chinese version has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. If the M8 Pro brings this chip, then it will likely be the POCO M-series with the fastest and most premium chipset to date. Other specifications should remain the same, like the 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, NFC, and Stereo Speakers.
The POCO M8 Pro could also be a mix between the two Redmi Note 15 Pro series. After all, the Dimensity 7400 Ultra makes more sense in the M-series. Anyway, we have to wait for more details. We expect these details to appear in the coming weeks. We believe that Xiaomi won't take much time to release smartphones globally.
