Realme GT Master Edition Phones Announced, Starting At 2399 Yuan ($370)

We have been talking about a new smartphone from Realme for a long time. The main selling point of this handset has been going to be the travel suitcase design created by a well-known Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The Realme GT Master Edition was uncovered today, as scheduled. And it turns out that all our assumptions, leaks we got and official news were true. When saying this, we mean the price mainly.

In fact, Naoto Fukasawa has previously designed many popular phones for Realme/OPPO. This time, he designed the Realme GT Master Edition inspired of suitcases that should encourage young people to continue to travel and explore even in the current travel restrictions.

The Realme GT Master Series has four colors: gray, apricot, new snow mountain and dawn. The first two models look like suitcases. They also adopt the industry's first 3D plain leather craft.

Our protagonist comes with a 6.5-inch Samsung AMOLED screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate, three-speed adaptive adjustment, 480Hz touch report rate, 1100nits maximum brightness, and adopts COP packaging technology. That’s why it has a very narrow chin. At the same time, it has passed HDR 10+ certification. Lastly, this display supports 10240-level dimming and DC dimming. So it is ideal for eyes.

In terms of configuration, the Realme GT Master Edition sports the Snapdragon 870 processor, which is one of the highly acclaimed 5G chips this year. The performance and power consumption are well balanced. It supports high frame rate modes for popular games such as Honor of Kings and Peace Elite.

Plus, it has up to 12GB of memory, which can transform to a 19GB memory through memory expansion technology.

In other aspects, the Realme GT Master Edition supports 65W super-fast charge. So the 4500mAh battery will charge in less than an hour. There are also two stereo speakers, linear motors, NFC (enhanced version), etc.

Apart from the appearance, the next selling point of this phone is the camera. There is a 32MP Sony sensor on the front. On the opposite side, there is a matrix-style three-camera. The main lens uses the IMX766 sensor jointly developed with Sony. It has a 50MP resolution and a 1/1.56-inch outsole. So the amount of light input has been greatly increased. Also, the sensor supports OIS, full-pixel omnidirectional focusing, and hardware-level stacked DOL-HDR for clearer picture quality.

Another sensor has a 16MP resolution and comes our way from Sony as well. It has a 123-degree ultra-large field of view and supports ultra-wide-angle night scene mode. The third lens is a macro sensor.

The Realme GT Master series also pioneered the so-called street photography mode. It supports DIS ultra-clear capture through built-in three filters and other functions.

Besides the model we have been talking about above, the manufacturer also unleashed a lighter model dubbed the Realme GT Discovery Edition. It is almost the same as the previous handset, but some changes are obvious. Say, it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor and can stabilize 90 frames even when playing "Honor of Kings." It has a 64MP main camera + 8MP ultra wide-angle + 2MP macro camera. The weight is 174g and the thickness is 8mm. Inside, it carries a built-in 4300mAh battery, which supports 65W fast charging. The 8GB memory can be turned into a 13GB RAM.
