DOOGEE are a phone maker that have come out of nowhere. The brands is one of the few that targets international customers and they are doing very well in Europe which comes as no surprise considering they offer phones like the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia.
On the surface the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia is like any other mid-range Chinese smartphone. It features the tried and trusted Mediatek MT6582 chipset, 1GB RAM and has a 4.5-inch qHD 960 x 540 display which suit the phones asking price of just $120. But trying to be a standout company means doing things that other manufacturers haven't and this is where the DG800 Valencia really comes in to its own!

DOOGEE DG800 Valencia Specifications

Bear in mind that the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia is a $120 Android smartphone when reading the following specs.

If you didn't look in to that too carefully then you might have missed the details mentioning the rear touch panel, 13 mega-pixel main camera, 8 mega-pixel front with 88 degree wide-angle lens, dual SIM support oh and Android 4.4.2 KitKat! At the time of writing I believe that the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia is the only quad-core MT6582 phone on the market running Android 4.4.2!

Camera specs are what we got from the official Doogee website and the packaging the phone came in, they sound impressive and we wonder if these sensors are in fact an 8 mega-pixel rear, 5 mega-pixel front which have been interpolated to achieve higher resolution images. But even still, those specs are still impressive for $120!

DOOGEE DG800 Valencia In the box

In the box DOOGEE supply the DG800 Valencia with a spare rear cover (with no touch control), a standard cover (w/touch), 2000mAh battery (which seems kinds of small to us), 2 x screen films (one already fitted), USB cable, charger, ear buds and English instruction manual.

It is early days for a full review and I might uncover some bugs over the days, but from what I have seen from the DOOGEE DG800 I can safely say that this is undoubtedly the best value Android smartphone in this price range. Even if we assume the cameras are interpolated, the specs are still more than most other companies are offering, and the rear touch panel and Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS are real standout features.
We'll bring you more on the DOOGEE DG800 Valencia once we have finished our review.
