The launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series draws near. While we don't get an official release date, the details keep popping up in the wild. It's just a matter of time as the trio of smartphones is expected for the first months of 2026. The lineup is set to include the vanilla Galaxy S26, the Plus, and the Ultra variants. We had some rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, set to replace the super-thin and unsuccessful Galaxy S25 Edge. Similarly, there were some talks about a new Galaxy S26 Pro variant. Now, Samsung comes to put these rumors to rest, at least for now.

Galaxy S26 Edge and S26 Pro Aren't Coming

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was a big failure in terms of sales. Since this device was acknowledged as a commercial disaster, many reports suggested that Samsung wouldn't launch a sequel. Then, we also had rumors stating that Samsung would eventually bring this variant after the launch of the S26 family. Well, the latest leak finally basically confirms we aren't seeing a new Edge anytime soon. A PDF document about promotions, published by Samsung Colombia, confirms the Galaxy S26 series will be the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. There won't be any Pro or Edge variants coming soon.

The document leak does not bury the Galaxy S26 Edge or S26 Pro entirely. However, it basically confirms that we won't see any of these two variants during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. If they come eventually, we wil have to wait.

Understanding the Past Rumors About the Galaxy S26 Edge and the Galaxy S26 Pro

According to the rumors, the Galaxy S26 Edge, the successor to the S25 Edge, might launch a few months after the S26 series release. Only time will tell if Samsung will keep this schedule, considering the poor performance of the Ultra variant.
The past rumors were talking about a complete overhaul for the Galaxy S26 series, but this does not seem to be happening anymore. For context, the S26 Edge would come as a replacement for the S26+. However, due to the S25 Edge's poor sales, the brand had to reconsider the Galaxy S26+.
When it comes to the Galaxy S26 Pro, not much is known about it. But the rumors for this variant suggested it would be an entirely new model that could replace the vanilla S26, offering a richer experience.
