Vivo Y500 Pro Arrives With Dimensity 7400, 200MP Camera and 7000mAh Battery

After a couple of teasers, Vivo finally took the wraps off its Vivo Y500 Pro. It's a new mid-range smartphone with a premium look and a powerful chipset. It also embraces the trend of huge batteries and surprises with a 200 MP camera.

Vivo Y500 Pro Specifications and Features

The Vivo Y500 Pro further consolidates the brand's mid-range lineup with big improvements. First of all, the device comes with a faster MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC. It brings a 100 MHz increase over the Dimensity 7300 in the Vivo Y400 Pro, but the newer technology certainly brings benefits in the overall usage. The chipset is paired with either 8GB of RAM or 12 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there is a small downgrade in storage, from UFS 3.1 to UFS 2.2.

The Vivo Y500 Pro carries a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Diamond Shield Glass. The panel is smaller than the Y400 Pro's (6.77-inch), but the experience should be better for those who want a sleek phone. Curiously, the weight is added, but that probably comes with the battery increase and extra endurance.

In fact, the Vivo Y500 Pro comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings. The Y500 Pro is also more drop-resistant and has the industry's first national standard reliability certification. The phone has a massive 7,000mAh battery that is 22% bigger than its predecessor and keeps the 90W charging tech.

Last but not least, the phone also has a 200 MP upgraded camera with a larger 1/1.56-inch sensor. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 32MP camera with an f/2.5 aperture.

The phone runs OriginOS 6 straight out of the box, which means Android 16 as the underlying OS. The phone is available only in China, but we do expect it to hit other markets in the coming months.
