Apple continues to be a trend-setting brand as its latest iOS 26 with its Liquid Glass design philosophy keeps setting new trends among smartphone makers. When it comes to the Chinese brands, we are seeing a lot of them leaving their old design for a glassy approach. Vivo seems to be the latest one following this
new design trend. The brand will reveal
OriginOS 6 soon, and a new teaser reveals the new look with some glassy elements.
OriginOS 6 Embraces The New Liquid Glass Trend
OriginOS 6 marks a major milestone for Vivo since it will replace FuntouchOS 6 among global devices. Soon,
OriginOS will mark Vivo's transition to a unique software identity across all regions. The new video shows some improvements, namely:
- Improvements Around Animated Island in Punch Hule
- A New "Glass-Looking" User Interface
There’s no mention of glass in the teasers. Apple already uses the name “Liquid Glass,” so Vivo might go in a different direction and call it “water.” The design shows see-through menus and soft, blurred backgrounds. These effects make the screen look smooth and modern. It also shows that more phone makers are moving toward this new, clean style for their user interfaces.
Android 16 with OriginOS 16 Preview Program Begins Next Week
Vivo will launch
OriginOS worldwide on October 15 and has started the
OriginOS 6 Preview Program. This update will bring
Android 16 to some Vivo and iQOO phones. The upcoming iQOO 15 is likely to be the first phone to run the new software. Since it’s still a preview, only a few devices will get it at first, and others will have to wait. New Vivo phones released later this year may already come with OriginOS preinstalled.
It’s not yet clear if Vivo will drop FuntouchOS right away or switch to
OriginOS slowly over time. More details about the rollout, features, and supported devices are expected to be shared on October 15.
