The wait is officially over for global power users. On the final day of 2025, Xiaomi released HyperOS 3 for the global variant of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The build, OS3.0.1.0.WMAMIXM, is a major leap. It transitions the device to Android 16. Right now, it's in the "Mi Pilot" stage. That means beta testers get it first to catch bugs before the wider public rollout in mid-January 2026.

Meet the "Super Island"

The biggest visual change is the Super Island. Unlike the static notification bars of the past, this is a multitasking hub at the top of your screen.
  • Live Activities: It shows timers, music controls, and recording status in real-time.
  • Three-Island Layout: Xiaomi claims you can track three different tasks at once without switching apps.
  • Pull-Down Gestures: You can expand the island into mini-windows or drag content directly into other apps like WeChat or Telegram.

"Liquid Glass" and HyperAI

Xiaomi’s new animation engine is called Liquid Glass. It’s designed to fix the stutters found in HyperOS 2. They’ve refined over 100 system-wide animations to make the 13 Ultra feel snappy again.

On the AI front, you get HyperAI. This includes a smart Gallery search that recognizes things like "food" or "pets" instantly. There are also AI Dynamic Wallpapers. These turn your regular photos into cinematic, moving backgrounds with depth effects.

Key Points:

  • Xiaomi 13 Ultra global units are receiving HyperOS 3 (Build OS3.0.1.0.WMAMIXM).
  • The update is based on Android 16 and is currently in Mi Pilot testing.
  • New "Super Island" feature allows for triple-tasking in the notification area.
  • "Liquid Glass" engine offers smoother animations and improved system efficiency.
  • Caution is advised regarding third-party "MemeOS Enhancer" apps.

A Warning on "Enhancer" Apps

The leak mentioned the MemeOS Enhancer app. Avoid it. While it claims to "unlock" features, many users in the Xiaomi Community have reported that it’s mostly just a bucket for ads. Some have even bricked their devices trying to force-install Chinese system apps on Global ROMs. Stick to the official settings menu. If you aren't a Mi Pilot, just wait two weeks for the stable OTA.
