The
Redmi K90 series is getting set to
welcome new models to the line-up. This next
gen of Redmi devices is performance-focused and is gearing up to storm
the global tech space. A device to feature in this series is the
Redmi K90 Pro,
AKA
Poco F8 Ultra, a highly anticipated device among fans.
Certification
Hints at Fast Charging
Two models in the series now have the Chinese 3C certification. These models come with tag 25102RK69C and 25102RKBEC. Both are listed with support for 100W wired fast
charging.
A previous certification also revealed the standard
Redmi K90 under
the number 2510DRK44C. While the names are not confirmed, leaks point to
25102RKBEC being the
Redmi K90 Pro.
This is the model that should arrive in the global market as
Poco F8 Ultra. The other certified model could be a special
Redmi K90 Pro
Champion Edition.
Design
and Feature Expectations
Leaks suggest Xiaomi is preparing a
design refresh for the K90 series. The new models are rumoured to carry a more
premium look and feel compared to last year’s
Redmi K80.
The cameras may see
some incremental upgrades as well. One report indicates that the standard K90
could finally include a telephoto lens, a feature missing from its predecessor.
Even so, insiders believe the main highlights will remain the display and
battery, with the devices said to pack large 7,000mAh batteries for extended
use.
Power
and Performance
According to well-known tipster
Digital Chat Station, the K90 series may adopt Qualcomm’s latest
Snapdragon 8
Elite Gen 5 processor, making it one of the earliest phones to feature the
flagship chip.
Charging capabilities could also expand with compatibility for
the 100W PPS universal standard, already present in Xiaomi’s flagship 17
series. These focus on performance and efficiency, which the Redmi K lineup is
known for.
Branding
and Global Release
It is not a surprise that Xiaomi tends to rebrand its Redmi K Pro line as Poco Ultra phones for the world stage. If the buzz holds, the
Redmi K90, set for sale in China, will make its way out as the
Poco F8 Ultra.
This would fit the past trend, where Redmi K phones take on the Poco name when sold outside China. It gives Xiaomi a way to keep both lines clear while still broadening its reach.
Launch
Timeline
Based on the rollout of the Redmi K80 in November last year, the
Redmi K90 is set to land soon. A new cert has now hinted at this.
The firm has not made a clear statement on the date yet. Still, signs point to the phone being in its last stage of development, right ahead of its launch in China.
With the buzz and the cert now out, the K90 looks close to its first public show, which may then lead to its global form as the
Poco F8 Ultra.
