Have UMi managed to optimise the MT6589 quad-core processor running the flagship UMi X2 to accept 2GB RAM? These leaked screenshots say yes!
It’s no secret that UMi are currently ironing out the bugs with running 2GB RAM with Mediatek’s MT6589 4-core processor. In fact the complete lack of any quad-core MTK phone running 2GB RAM on the market suggests it’s not just UMi who are having the problem, but they could be the first to have solved it!

These screen shots, from an engineering version of the UMi X2 were posted yesterday and show the X2 running 2GB RAM. It wouldn’t be all that difficult to fake these images with Photoshop or similar, but as they come from UMi’s forums we will accept them as genuine unless proven wrong.
We can also wee that the UMi X2 is running Android 4.2.1 which could bring some great features to the UMi flagship phone including Miracast!
The UMi X2, seen in India testing, is scheduled for launch in April and will feature a 5-inch 1080 display, quad-core 1.2Gghx MT6589 CPU, 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

that image shows that android kernel that shows ram size was just altered by comparing the used ram to unused at least 1.4 GB would have been free i dought whether that is real 2GB may be 1.3 GB there it can be but still big might be 1GB
There’s another little bug with the screen, looks at the screen resolution… It’s like phone with onscreen buttons navigation.
See the pic of UMIx2 on FB. It is very ugly in looking. I just thought it was canvas 2 which was big and ugly unlike canvas HD. Better go with some other sleek looking phones which has same specification as umix2. I was eager to buy it but after seeing the pic and no word of after sale service etc i have dumped UMIx2. Now shall try Zop, Neo or lastly Canvas HD. N whats that black line below on screen??? Thanks
If I buy some china phone with 4Core 2GB…can I upgrade it later to android 5?

Just a question: Umi is having trouble running 2 GB with MTK processor, but aren’t Neo and JiaYu successfully doing that with their new models?
@Dubazar; That was the first thing I noticed too. Besides that, it reports a dpi of 480… (A 5″ FullHD screen has a ppi of 441…)(and with a resolution of 1776X1080 it is 415…).

Nobody attends a phone,no response to the mail sent on the site, nor satisfactory information is available on official site of umimobile about umi-xII. Can anybody from India tell me the authenticity of these Chinese products as compared to Indian Manufacturers like Micromax?
