Very clearly, the AndroidCentral folks think of the MediaPad X1 as a large phone than a small tablet, which is quite understandable given the world average for a smartphone screen size.

Gizchina News of the week

For those unawares, the Huawei MediaPad X1 comes with a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display, a good 2 gigs of RAM, and a newbie processor in the form of the HiSilicon Kirin 910 that runs at 1.6GHz throughout its 4 cores.

It also features Sony’s Exmor R, i.e., a 13 mega-pixel shooter which isn’t quite a commonplace as far as tablets go. On the front, the MediaPad has a 5 mega-pixel shooter.

According to Huawei, the MediaPad X1 will be available is China, Russia, the Middle East, Japan,Western Europe and Latin America starting next month at a €399 price point.

Can’t believe they’re selling it here for $200 and $520 overseas. What’s the difference?
