Meizu’s new brand TV commercial is about… what?

Meizu are on a new high and believe they can take on the world. A different type of ‘high’ affected their marketing department though. What do you make of this brand commercial?

Meizu are a repowered, revitalised brand! Well that’s what they want us to believe anyway. The company has plans to launch their phones in the US later this year, have already had a ‘launch’ in France and will soon be offering their MX3 with Ubuntu OS.

We also know that one of Meizu’s new major backers has a bet with Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and that Meizu intend to help win that bet in anyway they can.

The video below is a Meizu brand advertisement which will be shown on Chinese TV soon. Chinese sites aren’t sure what to make and our best guess is that Meizu are showing their fighting spirit and that they have a planned destination (which they will get to by riding a motorbike slowly to).

So what do you guys make of the commercial? What are Meizu trying to get at? Let us know in the comments below.

Speaking about Meizu, what’s become of your shattered MX3 Andi?

I sent it back to Meizu for repair yesterday, waiting for the quotation now. Interestingly they told me I was ‘lucky’ to be in China as the chance of fixing it outside of China would be slim! So much for their recent launch in France…..

Oh Andi, you have been to China, so you should realise that chinese would definately get it as they are from outer space 😉

That’s pretty racist, actually. Also, I’m pretty sure you’re thinking about Japanese commercials. Those are….. weird, to say the least.

What’s so pretty racist – admitting that there is a huge difference between western and chinese culture? But you are right, though – japanese top that 🙂

Maybe when the motocyclist arrives at his destination, he’ll get a call on his soon to be released Meizu and we’ll realize that the cyclist is the very swordsman in the begining.

A nice touch would be to have him ending his conversation while entering his home only to receive an MMS video which the caller was actually pre-calling him as a reminder.

So he enters his living room to greet his son or daughter coloring at which point he wirelessly connects his Meizu phablet to his Meizu flat screen and plays the MMS video he had just recieved which turns out to be a Happy Birthday greeting to his child from the childs mother who is on her way home from the airport after having just landed.
