For those who do not remember, the Blade S6 was a mid-range handset launched by ZTE in February, packing decent specs as the Snapdragon 615, 5-inch 720p screen, 16GB of Storage and 2GB Ram, a 13MP Camera and fully functional Android 5.0 Lollipop, everything powered by a 2600mAh battery.

Although ZTE Blade S6 not impress everyone on its specs, in a very difficult and competitive Chinese mid-range market has shown to be in this year, the company seems keen to attract consumers not only by the specifications, but also for functionality and unique software features.

Based on that the company will bring to the Blade S6 a very interesting feature based in facial recognition, in other words, users will be able to unlock their device just looking to it, The feature called Eyeprint ID is developed by EyeVerify, a company specialized in biometric security solutions.

Eyeprint ID will use the front camera to scan the user’s eye, by the identification of blood vessels patterns that are unique to each person. The company also promises a 99.99% level of accuracy, unlock times of under a second, and most important, great security for the user.

We can also get a early view of the system working on the new ZTE Grand S3, certainly will be very interesting to see this working soon on the ZTE Blade S6 either. And everything will be possible with only a software update, for that reason would be great to see that system coming for another ZTE devices too, as the high-end Nubia series.

In times where security combined with innovation is a priority, It will be very interesting to see the results that the Eyeprint ID will bring for us, the consumers.
