Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 pro headphone issue resolved in MIUI 9.2.5.0 OTA update

Xiaomi has today released the MIUI 9.2.5.0 OTA update for users of the Redmi Note 5 pro that has one key change in it: a fix for the audio-related issue reported by users via its MIU community a couple of days back. The OTA (MIUI v9.2.5.0) update is currently rolling out to users of the device, but you can manually check the update via  Settings > System updates option or by using the Updater app.

We reported a couple of days back that a significant number of the MIUI community users have complained that though their Redmi Note 5 Pro normal speaker volume is fine, once a headphone is connected to the 3.5mm jack, the volume drops to ambient levels.

Launched alongside with the Redmi Note 5, the Note 5 pro is available in India at a starting price of Rs. 13,999, while China it is expected to arrive China later in March.

Good to see they’re responsive. I read a US review of “Why Not to Buy Cheaper Chinese Smartphones” and they claim such smartphones never get system updates. This proves them wrong!

This is related to Xiaomi. Enough other smaller chinese brands don’t really care about aftersales support and software updates.
