So far, there have been no significant issues with the HarmonyOS 2. It appears that Huawei is doing well with the development and release of this new system. However, this system is not available outside China for now. When this system rolls out globally, then we can properly access the workability of this system.

HarmonyOS 2 adaptation history

Huawei officially released the HarmonyOS system on June 2nd. In the first week, by June 9, this system already had over 10 million users. In two weeks, this operating system had over 18 million users. After a month of upgrade, HarmonyOS had over 25 million users. Before the end of July, this figure increased to over 40 million. In less than two months, as of early August, this operating system had over 50 million users. As of August 30th, HarmonyOS had over 70 million active users. However, a few days later (September, 2nd), the company announced that it has over 90 million users.

As of September 13th, HarmonyOS users officially exceeded 100 million. By September 27th, Huawei HarmonyOS users had increased to 120 million. As of early October, the HarmonyOS 2 had over 150 million users in China. It is obvious that this system will have well over 200 million users before the end of this year. This upgrade is also Huawei’s largest system update in its history.

HarmonyOS will go global next year

In a recent interview in Romania, Derek Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer business in the region, said that global users will get HarmonyOS in 2022. This is the first time that a Huawei executive is talking about the global launch of HarmonyOS. Presently, the company released an upgraded EMUI 12 system for global users. Apparently, global users will remain on EMUI until next year. According to the Huawei executive, after migration from Android, the overall performance improves by 10%. It is worth mentioning that HarmonyOS 3.0 is already in preview. The beta testing of this system will commence in the first quarter of next year.

Unfortunately, there is no mention of the specific date or month that this update will arrive. Nevertheless, we expect to have more information in the coming weeks. The Chinese manufacturer will probably reveal more information soon.
