Chinese smartphone maker Honor seems to be gearing up to announce it’s first foldable, under the Magic V moniker, just days after one of its competitors, BBK Electronics’ Oppo announce the Oppo Find N, the first foldable from the smartphone maker known primarily for its selfie cameras.
Coming to the Honor Magic V, the company has released a teaser, which unfortunately fails to reveal any notable bit of information in relation to the foldable.
Honor Set to Announce First Foldable in the Form of the Honor Magic V
The only thing we can see is that the two panels are split via a hinge, much like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Oppo Find N, both of which have an in-ward folding style.
Rumours suggest that the Honor Magic V will include an 8-inch main screen with a resolution of FHD+, a 108MP main shooter, as well as a 4,500mAh battery.
Interestingly, Honor is not the only Chinese smartphone OEM to launch a new foldable handset, with Xiaomi also working on what is dubbed the Mix Fold 2.
This is going to be the successor to the Mi Mix Fold, with the Fold 2 tipped to feature Samsung’s UTG or Ultra-Thin Glass for superior durability.
What Else is Going on in the Smartphone Market?
In other smartphone news, as per the leaks that happened last month, the appearance of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will differ from other models in the series and will change against the background of its predecessor.
Evaluating its image becomes alarming and there are serious doubts about the success of the flagship design. The smartphone has a fat body and it will not be a miniature gadget. The biggest impression is on the huge and massive compartment of the main camera, which only slightly falls short of taking up half of the rear panel of the 12 Ultra.
Furthermore, the block is round in shape and pretty much rises above the body. The bezel, apparently, will be typical of our days: a display with curved edges, thin bezels and a “round” front camera.
