Moto G53s spotted on the Google Play Console

Motorola recently unveiled the Moto G53, and it seems to be ready for the first incremental variant. The Moto G53 is a budget mid-range phone that makes some sacrifices to expand 5G connectivity to more audiences. 5G phones are getting more democratic, but there is still a long way to go to make them cheap as 4G low-end phones. Well, it seems that Motorola is doing one more move to expand its 5G offerings. An all-new Moto G53s was spotted at the Google Play Console listing.

Moto G53s specifications and features

As usual, Google Play Console keeps some details under wraps. However, the certification is a good hint of an imminent launch. The Moto G53s will keep things in the mid-range territory. Instead of being an upgrade, this seems to be more of a lower-cost variant. The phone carries the Qualcomm SM4350 SoC. This stands for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480, and not the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ variant seen in the Moto G53. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 brings two ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.0 GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. In terms of graphics, we have the Adreno 619 GPU which offers moderate performance on games. Worth noting that the SoC also brings an ISP and a Snapdragon X51 5G modem.

Gizchina News of the week

Moto G53

The Moto G53s boasts a display with HD+ resolution, which reads 1,600 x 720 pixels. It’s the same resolution as the vanilla Moto G53. Considering that this is a budget phone, we assume this is a regular LCD. Right now, we don’t know if it will bring more than a 60Hz refresh rate. The G53 brings 120 Hz, so we’re a bit optimistic. This variant runs with 4 GB of RAM and should be the lowest model. Hopefully, there will be other options with extra RAM.

The regular model brings a 5,000 mAh battery with just 10W charging as the global version. We expect the same for the lesser model. Further, we believe that the Moto G53s will bring the same cameras as its upper model. That means a 50-Megapixel main camera and a 2-Megapixel macro shooter. In the selfie department, we will likely see either an 8-Megapixel or a 16-Megapixel selfie shooter.

There is no word regarding the release, but the certification points to an imminent one. Anyway, we don’t expect much buzz for this launch. We’ll keep an eye on the rumor mill for more details about this budget 5G handset.

Worth noting that Motorola is moving to launch the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and the Motorola RAZR 2023 clamshell foldable. These devices will certainly get a massive marketing ahead of their release.
