Xiaomi September 2026 Security Update Is Rolling Out to These Devices

Xiaomi has started rolling out its September 2026 security update to a number of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones. The update is already available for several models in China. Some of these devices are also getting HyperOS 4 at the same time.
The rollout is still in its early stages guys, so I expect more phones to join the list soon.
These Xiaomi phones are getting the update
The current rollout includes the following models:
- Redmi K80 — China, OS4.0.0.8.XOKCNXM
- Redmi K80 Pro — China, OS4.0.0.8.XOMCNXM
- Redmi K100 Pro Max — China, OS4.0.0.8.XGNCNXM
The same builds are also reaching some POCO models:
- POCO F7 Pro — China, OS4.0.0.8.XOKCNXM
- POCO F7 Ultra — China, OS4.0.0.8.XOMCNXM
- POCO F9 Ultra — China, OS4.0.0.8.XGNCNXM
The list is still growing, so more Xiaomi devices should join the rollout soon.
HyperOS 4 is part of the story
There is an important detail here. These first September security updates are arriving with HyperOS 4, rather than as separate HyperOS 3 security builds.
That mainly applies to devices already moving to HyperOS 4. Xiaomi has also started its global HyperOS 4 beta program, with devices such as the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro already receiving beta builds in global and EEA markets.
For users outside China, however, things are still a little different. Xiaomi has not yet published the complete global stable HyperOS 4 rollout schedule.
What does the September patch fix?
The September Android security update is bigger than some recent monthly patches. Google lists 95 fixes for the Android system and framework. The update also contains another 85 fixes for hardware components, including issues linked to Qualcomm, MediaTek, Arm, Imagination Technologies and Unisoc hardware.
The most serious system issue is a remote code execution vulnerability. It does not require extra privileges or user interaction, which makes installing the patch particularly important once it becomes available for your device.
Of course, not every one of Google's 180 fixes applies to every Xiaomi phone. The exact patch content can vary by device and software build.
How to check for the update
You can check your phone manually.
Go to: Settings → About phone → HyperOS → Check for updates
If nothing appears, don't worry. Xiaomi normally uses a staged rollout. This means the update can arrive at different times, even for users with the same phone. The update may also depend on your region.
More phones should follow
The September security update is only starting to spread across Xiaomi's lineup. I expect the list to grow over the next few weeks as Xiaomi prepares more builds for its other phones and tablets.
For me, the most important part here is the security patch itself. These updates are easy to ignore because they rarely change how your phone looks or feels. But serious Android bugs can affect your data and device security. So when the September patch reaches your phone, it is worth installing.
And if your phone is also getting HyperOS 4, you are getting a much bigger software update at the same time.
