As I write this there are thousands of people all over the world waiting inlines to get hold of the latest iPhone, the
iPhone 5 from Apple! But why by an iPhone 5 when these 5 top
Chinese phones will blow it away!
iPhone fans and Apple fans in general don’t mind waiting for the next iDevice, as can be seen by the number of people who started waiting for the iPhone 5 4 days before launch!
5 Top Chinese phones which will blow the iPhone 5 away!
I understand that some people really want to be first to get the latest Apple product but what I don’t understand is if they don’t mind waiting why not hold on for a few more months and grab one of these much more powerful Chinese phones?
Xiaomi M2
The
Xiaomi M2 will be on sale from next month but before you get super excited and start filling in pre-orders there are 2 points I would like to mention:
- The pre-orders are open to customers in China only.
- Even us in China will be waiting months to get our hands on one!
- But don't worry as international resellers will offer them (eventually!)
But this article is about waiting, and then blowing the iPhone 5 out of the water! So let’s see what we get with the
Xiaomi M2.
Xiaomi M2 specification
The Xiaomi M2 is powered by the stunning Qualcomm Snapdragon 8064 CPU quad-core chip clocked at 1.5ghz and gets a whopping 2GB RAM. That’s it that’s all you need this phone is awesome. Buy one!
Ok, ok more details. The M2 also has a fantastic screen measuring 4.3 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and 342PPI. Oh, and the camera’s are amazing on the Xiaomi M2 too with the rear being an 8 mega-pixel unit with 28mm wide angle lens! What’s more both the front and rear cameras can capture 1080 video.
The M2 will go on sale for 1999 Yuan ($316) for the 16GB model. There will also be a 32GB version but pricing has yet to be set. This has got to be one of the top Chinese phones ever made!
Oppo Find 5
Oppo are fast becoming my new faourite
Chinese phone brands to watch. The first phone which really grabbed my attention was the current Finder 3 which is the world’s thinnest Android phone at just 6.65mm, but never mind that because Oppo have something even more awesome on the way!
Oppo Find 5 Specification The Oppo
Find 5 hasn’t been officially unveiled but we have learned enough through leaked photos and reports that this
Chinese phone has enough grunt to take on the best Apple can throw at it.
The specification is actually very similar to the Xiaomi M2 meaning the same quad-core Qualcomm S4 CPU and 2GB RAM will run the show, but there are a few differences.
Oppo are rumored to be giving the Find 5 a 5 inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with an amazing 441ppi. Then there is the rear camera which is expected to be a next generation 12 mega-pixel unit!
Oppo Find 5 Price
No confirmed pricing but we are expecting from 2300-2800 Yuan ($364-$444). The Oppo Find 5 could has the makings to be the one of the top Chinese phones of 2012!
HTC Droid Incredible X
HTC are well and truly back in the game thanks to their One range of phones, and in particular the
HTC One X which is one of my favorite Android phones of all time!
HTC aren’t resting on their laurels though and have already started to make headway with their latest flagship Android phone named the HTC Droid Incredible X.
HTC Droid Incredible X Specification
There’s a certain theme with all these next generation Android phones and that’s that most are running Qualcomm’s new S4 quad-core, and the new HTC is no different opting for a 1.5Ghz version along with 1.5GB of RAM!
Like the Oppo Find 5, the new HTC will have a great 5 inch screen capable of 1080 HD and will boast 480ppi!
Not much else is known about the HTC Droid Incredible X other than their could be an additional rear notification light, and it will likely have a built in battery.
HTC Droid Incredible X Price

Meizu M040
Of all the phones here this is the one we know least about (but hey this is all about waiting to destroy the iPhone 5 right?).
What we do know is that Meizu have been performing some initial testing of their next generation Android phone and the results are astonishing!
Meizu M040 Specification
Other than knowing that the current M040 is clocked at just 1Ghz but manages to score an earth shattering 14122 on AnTuTu we know little else about the new Meizu.
That doesn’t stop me from speculating though! I believe the new Meizu will continue to use Samsung CPU’s will have a 5 inch screen and will likely have a built in battery and updated 8 mega-pixel camera.
Meizu M040 Price
TBA. Will the Meizu M040 be enough to see Meizu fight off other top Chinese phones?
GooPhone i5
Oh I went there! The
GooPhone i5 might be known as an iPhone 5 knock-off but this clone is actually just as well spec’d as the real thing and could possibly be just as fast!
GooPhone i5 Specification
The GooPhone i5 will take advantage of the price drop in Nvidia CPU’s and will back a Tegra 3 quad-core CPU running at 1.4ghz with1GB RAM.
There will be also 16GB of built in memory (plus a rumored 32GB model) and possibly and SD card reader.
The 4 inch screen on the GooPhone i5 actually has a better resolution than the real iPhone 5 boasting 1250 x 720 however we have no idea about the PPi on the GooPhone’s screen.
The rear camera is rumored to be 12 mega-pixels, but i believe an 8 mega--pixel unit is more likely, and it will probably ship with Android 4.0.4 with an iOS theme built on top.
GooPhone i5 Price
The GooPhone i5 is expected to go on sale for around 2000 Yuan ($316) which is a bit pricey but remember this is off contract so it will be cheaper than the real iPhone 5 in the long run (if it is as good quality).
Honorable mention: JiaYu G3
If you have been waiting for the
JiaYu G3 this long I imagine you will want to wait a little longer as this
Chinese phone offers similar specs as above but with a dual-core CPU and much lower 899 ($140) price tag!
Which Chinese Android phone will you choose?
Chinese phones have come on leaps and bounds over the past year and we are going to see some amazingly designed and extremely powerful devices arrive from China in the next 12 months.
It’s a hard choice but from the details above and if they we’re on sale now, which top Chinese quad-core phone would you choose?
