Samsung has begun to roll out its new build of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S24 FE. This comes after the firm pushed the same update to the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. The new build is based on Android 16 and is now live for some users.

Update Availability

The first wave of this push is in Europe and Iran. The build tags are S721BXXU7CYI5, S721BOXM7CYI5, and S721BOJM7CYI5 and bundle the September 2025 security patch.
The update file is just over 3GB in size, so ensure that you have enough data or Wi-Fi as well as decent storage space.

What’s Included

One UI 8 is Samsung’s take on Android 16, bringing both Google’s latest system upgrades and Samsung’s own improvements.
While the company hasn’t released an exhaustive changelog for the S24 FE specifically, users can expect the same visual polish, smoother animations, and new customisation tools that rolled out to the other Galaxy S24 models.
The update is expected to come with the latest security fixes and performance optimisation, making it safe and secure.

How to Update

The update hasn’t gotten to all Galaxy S24 FE owners just yet, as it may take a few days. But if you’re tired of waiting, there’s an option to check manually.
  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down and click on Software update
  • Click on 'Download and install' to check if One UI 8 is available for your phone.

A Consistent Rollout

Samsung has been moving quickly with One UI 8 compared to past major updates.
By starting with its premium S24 line and now introducing the S24 FE, the company demonstrates its intention to keep all users on the latest version as soon as possible.
Given Samsung’s track record, other Galaxy devices are expected to join the rollout in the weeks ahead.

Looking Ahead

The S24 FE is the budget model of the S24 range. Early access to One UI 8 makes it more of a smart buy.
With Android 16 at its core, plus Samsung’s extra features layered on top, the phone is better prepared to handle new apps, tighter security, and a cleaner user experience.
For now, users in Europe and Iran are the first to enjoy the new software. Other regions are expected to follow soon.
