Xiaomi now more popular than HTC in China


A Taiwanese market research report claims that Xiaomi phones now rank 5th most popular in China ahead of HTC.

TrendForce say that Chinese phone consumers have moved away from low-cost phones from old favourites Lenovo and ZTE and are even avoiding HTC phones in favour of Xiaomi’s low-cost high specification phones.

Xiaomi’s Hongmi is the phone which has really captured the attention of Chinese phone buyers with more than 60% interviewed considering to buy the 799 Yuan quad-core phone.

According to the report Xiaomi phones are now the 5th most used phone in China just behind Samsung, Apple, Nokia and Huawei.

    China may have a phone, but compared to the HTC, it’s a piece of junk! So you got a cheap phone. Good luck a month from now when it breaks down!

      I’ve been using my Xiaomi Mi2 since January and it is still working fine. My wife traded up from a HTC One X to a Xiaomi Mi2A and loves it.
