The JiaYu G4S isn’t the only octacore update for this month, the JiaYu G5S has also recently gone on sale here in China and will be available elsewhere next week.
Made from stainless steel and featuring a slightly larger 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass 720p display, the JiaYu G5S is the bigger, better dressed brother of the G4S with the same 1.7Ghz octacore processor. Actually most of the hardware is lifted directly from the G4S including the 13 mega-pixel main camera, 3 mega-pixel front, 1-2GB RAM and on board storage of between 4-16GB.

Yes, it confirm support 3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz network bands, and i ordered a black jiayu g5s 2+16G from Spemall, they said they already in stock in their company, i am waiting !
i was always thinking about buying this one as I really like its small dimensions yet powerful hardware. But i have read a bad experience of new MediaTek octacore processors users regarding GPS..they said MediaTek didnt improve GPS quality in new chips :(( i use GPS a lot…so i better wait for Xiaomi Redmi 1S with Snapdragon chip??
That is also my concern. I use a lot of GPS, mostly for navigation, therefore information like “fix was cought up after 15 seconds” does not give idea about the stability of measurement, which can be awful and innacurate on MTK.
Snapdragon… what is beeing powered by Snapdragon, is supported by MIUI (no need to worry about updates from producer), supports dual sim dual active, has microSD card reader and is not bigger than 5″ while not looking like piece of crap or toy?

I just got a G5S, everything is fine except the GPS which is not working at all. is not a problem of MTK processor, I have a WIKO Highway (French) with the same processor and it locks in 20 secs in my dinning room. I think is a matter of low quality or perhaps software, but in any case frustrating…
maybe weak antenna or rather poor MTK support for manufacturers to modify drivers.
COULD SOMEONE CLAIRIFY WHETHER OCTACORE GPS PERFORMANCE IS BETTER OR NOT ? I COULDNT FIND ANY REFERENCE TO IF MTK HAS REPLACED THE SAME CHIP OR BETTER CHIP FOR GPS IN 6592?
Why Jiayu cant update their camera to something better. They always install in their devices – bad ,low quality sensors.
Better (brighter) screen, good Gps, better camera and jiayu g5s would have super sales.
