Black Shark Technology CEO Luo Yuzhou confirmed on Weibo that all units of Black Shark 3S are sold out, so Black Shark 4 will be on the market soon. The smartphone has already appeared in TENAA, so we know the main specifications.

In addition, the new Black Shark will use LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 flash memory, and a high refresh rate screen. Of course, as a gaming phone, the new Black Shark 4 is bound to bring new upgrades. For the first time, the Black Shark 3 Pro uses an integrated physical-mechanical button. We expect to see similar features with the upcoming Black Shark 4.

Luo Yuzhou said that in 2021, Black Shark will launch a new gaming mobile phone product equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform. In addition to top performance, the new product will also bring players more breakthrough game technology innovations. The company claims that this device will provide a better product experience for the majority of mobile game players.

Furthermore, Luo Yuzhou emphasized that as a leader in the gaming mobile phone market, Black Shark has always adhered to its original intention. Its basic intention is to create mobile products with the strongest gaming experience.

Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro gets 3C certification – uses a 120W charger

Black Shark has been teasing the 120W fast-charging capabilities of its gaming phone for quite some time. Now, the certification proves that the company isn’t playing with its fans and will really bring a cutting-edge charging tech. This will allow the phone’s 4,500mAh battery to be filled in under 15 minutes. So, even though the 4,500mAh isn’t the biggest of batteries, especially for a gaming phone, it can be charged in just a few minutes.

The certification confirms that the MDY-12-ED is the power brick. It tops out at 20V output at 6A current with a note “only for altitude 5,000m and below” that shouldn’t be a problem unless you try to charge your phone at Everest. Jokes aside, we believe that this is regarding charging on planes. We assume that Xiaomi is using the usual dual-cell battery technology on its BS4 phones. After all, a regular battery can’t withstand a 120W charging rate.

Interestingly, the 120W charging will not be a feature exclusive to a specific variant. Both devices will support this insane fast-charging tech. One of the models is KSR-A0 (Kaiser) while the other has a PRS-A0 model number (Penrose). For now, it’s unclear which is the vanilla and which is the Pro variant. Anyway, both variants will have the very same Snapdragon 888 chipset. So the differences between the duo of gaming phones will be mostly incremental.
