This Week on GizChina

Xiaomi

As always, we had another week filled with Xiaomi news. It began with the appearance of a new flagship device on the 3C certification platform, we still aren’t sure whether we’re talking about the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 or the much rumored Xiaomi Mi LEX though.

A couple days later another device hit the news, the upcoming Xiaomi BlackShark 2 has indeed been caught in the wild in all its RGB fanciness; click here if you’re a mobile gamer!

Finally, we’ve seen an handset named “Mi 6S” on the benchmark site Geekbench, the device appears to pack a Snapdragon 835 and run Android Pie.

Huawei

Lots of rumors and news coming from Huawei in the past week as well. The Huawei Mate 20 series is around the corner, so leaks won’t stop coming out. The latest showed us the Mate 20 Pro on AnTuTu where it got over 313k points, we then so the handset entirely exposed with its little brother – the plain Mate 20 – over here, to end with some wild shots of the Mate 20.

The Mate 20 series will also come with a new Mate 20X gaming phone addition, while the Huawei Enjoy Max is expected to be a rebranded Honor 8X with a leather back.

Vivo

Gizchina News of the week

Vivo launched the new Z3i in China this past week, which is basically a Vivo V11i previously seen in India. The new smartphone sees some internal changes but it comes with the same overall design, meaning a water-drop top notch at the front and two rear cameras placed vertically.

The MediaTek Helio P60 will soon be followed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 variant, namely called Vivo Z3 which is expected to launch on October 17th.

Oppo

OPPO

Busy week for Oppo as well, the Chinese phone maker did indeed just announce the new Oppo K1, a mid-ranger with a dual rear camera setup that is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC.

The already powerful CPU should be then aided by the new Hyper Boost technology, which – if the name wasn’t clear enough – is a technology to boost the smartphone’s performance, both in games and out.

Finally, a render of the Oppo R19 gives a look at the potential design of the upcoming handset.
