This Week on GizChina
Meizu
This week we've been hearing a lot about the
Meizu M6S. The smartphone is supposed to come in an interesting
hexa-core Exynos variant as well as a Mediatek one for the global market. Meizu's phone could potentially come with an on-display fingerprint scanner as well, according to
this teaser.
LG
Apparently, the Korean company did not really learn from last year's mistake and is probably going to launch the next
LG G7 flagship with last year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 835;

Xiaomi
They've kept themselves busy over at Xiaomi's by launching two new products, the
Xiaomi Mi PowerBank 2 and the
Xiaomi Charger 9V/2A with Quick Charge 3.0 support. We then heard that the Chinese
tech giant might be working with Epistar, the largest
mini LED maker based in Taiwan to possibly use the
technology on their upcoming devices. Finally, the much awaited
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is rumored to be coming with a 699 Yuan ($107) price tag.
Vivo
Really exciting
news coming from
Vivo as well, the Chinese phone maker did indeed just show off the first working prototype of an

Sony
This has been the week of CES2018, as such some manufacturers have gone ahead and launched various devices, we're obviously talking about Sony that came out with three. The
Sony Xperia XA2,
Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra, and the

Alcatel
Interesting news coming from
Alcatel and its parent company
TCL. The latter is indeed introducing a new nomenclature for its devices and are working to introduce
really cost-effective phones at sub $100, $200 and $300 price ranges. All handsets will be featuring 18:9 display aspect ratio, a modern design and they'll probably be unveiled at the MWC2018 taking place in Barcelona from February 26th through March 1st.
