October is usually a busy month in the tech calendar, but this year it feels packed like never before. Nearly every major smartphone maker is preparing a launch, and there’s plenty of variety: from budget-friendly Vivo models to flagship heavyweights like the Oppo Find X9 Pro and OnePlus 15.
Most of the new devices will lean on the latest processors—Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. Both are being marketed as leaps forward in performance and power efficiency, but of course, real-world results will matter more than benchmark numbers.
Realme GT 8 Pro
Let’s walk through the phones expected this month and see what each brand is bringing to the table.

Realme GT 8 Pro

Realme’s GT series has always been about performance at a reasonable price, and the GT 8 Pro looks to continue that approach. While an official launch date hasn’t been revealed yet, the company already confirmed that the phone will debut in India with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it the first to do so.
The display is a 2K AMOLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and, according to Realme, a maximum brightness of 7,000 nits. That number is almost hard to believe—it’s brighter than most laptops and televisions on the market right now—but even if it’s slightly optimistic, it still suggests excellent outdoor visibility.
Battery capacity is expected to be 7,000mAh, paired with 120W wired charging. Wireless charging remains uncertain, though Realme may save that feature for later models.
The phone’s standout feature is its 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 12x lossless zoom. Combined with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and Android 16 with Realme UI 7, this device seems built to tick all the boxes for 2025.

Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 17 recently launched in China and is likely coming to India this month. While the Pro and Ultra versions also made their debut in China, Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether they’ll expand outside.

The standard Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen, capable of a 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness is a claimed 3,500 nits, with IP68 water resistance and Dragon Crystal Glass for protection.
The camera system includes three 50MP sensors: a main lens with OIS, a telephoto lens with 2.6x optical zoom, and an ultrawide. The front camera is also 50MP and supports 4K video capture.
Inside, the battery measures 7,000mAh, with support for 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging. That’s a lot of flexibility in one device.

Vivo V60e

Set to launch on October 7, the Vivo V60e is aimed at the upper mid-range segment. Rumors point to a 200MP main camera, a big leap for its category, joined by an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP selfie camera.

The phone is said to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display and run on the Dimensity 7360 processor. A 6,500mAh battery with 90W charging should provide both solid endurance and quick top-ups.
Extra features include IP68/P69 water and dust protection, NFC, and an IR blaster. Based on leaks, pricing will start around ₹34,999 for the base model and go up to nearly ₹39,000 for the higher-end version.

iQOO 15

The iQOO 15 will first land in China and later roll out globally. Known for gaming performance, iQOO is putting the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at its core, alongside a 6.85-inch QHD+ display running at 144Hz.

It also includes a Q3 gaming chip for smoother frame rates and a color-changing back panel, a playful design choice the brand has experimented with before.
For photography, there’s talk of a periscope telephoto lens, though the full setup hasn’t been confirmed yet. The device will ship with OriginOS 6, and unlike some previous iQOO models, the same software will appear globally.

OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 will launch first in China and then internationally later in the year. Like others in its class, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
One of its big draws will be the 1.5K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate, offering one of the smoothest screens available. Powering it all is a 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
On the rear, there’s expected to be a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto, and an ultrawide lens. Without the Hasselblad partnership, OnePlus will rely on its own imaging system.
Software depends on where you buy it: OriginOS 6 in China, and OxygenOS 16 internationally.

Oppo Find X9 Series

Oppo is officially launching the Find X9 series on October 16 in China, with a global rollout likely afterward. Instead of Qualcomm, Oppo is betting on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, which is reportedly competitive with Snapdragon’s best.

The Find X9 may feature a 6.59-inch OLED display, a 7,025mAh battery, and a triple 50MP camera setup, possibly supported by a True Chroma sensor for better color reproduction.
The Find X9 Pro is rumored to step things up with a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel, a 7,500mAh battery, and higher-end cameras such as the Sony LYT-828 sensor and a Samsung HP5 periscope lens.

Vivo X300 Series

Vivo’s X300 series is launching on October 13. Both the X300 and X300 Pro will feature the Dimensity 9500. The regular model is expected to include a 6.31-inch LTPO display, a 200MP main camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The Pro version may scale things up with a 6.78-inch display, larger battery, and wireless charging.

This series gives Vivo a strong premium option above the V60e.

Are you as hyped as I am?

With so many launches, October 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting months in smartphones in recent years. From the budget-friendly Redmi Note 15 which I almost forgot to add, to flagships like the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro, there’s something for nearly every type of buyer.
If you want the fastest performance, phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 should deliver. If camera innovation excites you, Realme’s 200MP periscope lens and Vivo’s 200MP primary shooter are ones to watch. For value seekers, the Redmi Note and Vivo V60e stand out.
Whatever your preference, this October offers more choice than ever.
