It looks like Lenovo- owned Motorola could be launching the Android powered Moto E5 play in Taiwan soon, breaking the U.S exclusiveness. Motorola earlier this Month announced the Moto E5 and E5 plus for the Indian market while leaving out the Android One Moto E5 plus.
Now, there are indications the device could soon be made available in other markets including India, however, Taiwan could be the first major market to get the device outside of the U.S, as it has now been approved by Taiwan’s NCC which suggests it could be available for sale in the country soon.
Although the certification page doesn’t reveal anything substantial, it does reveal the model number XT 1960-12, the Moto E5 play moniker as well as support for 2G/3G/4G frequency bands and GPS + GLONASS satellite positioning.
The device is expected to pack the same entry-level internals as well as same design with the variant sold in the US, and that includes; a 5.2-inch 1280×720 screen with a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 427 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage which is expandable using microSD card slot.

It has a dimple for the Motorola logo where the fingerprint scanner resides, and also, there is a single 8MP rear camera, while a single 5MP camera sis above the display. The Moto E5 boots Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, and has an inbuilt battery(2800mAh) big enough to last all day, but not comparable to the 5000mAh battery found in the Plus E5 variant.
Earlier this month, Motorola announced the Moto E5 Play Android Go edition in Europe, and to our amazement, it doesn’t appear to share much with the standard Moto E5 Play. It remains to be known what variant the Lenovo owned company could be launched in Taiwan.
