We reported about a week ago on a trademark filing by Samsun in Korea that suggests the firm might be ditching its Galaxy Gear moniker for the Samsung watch. Samsung itself seemingly confirmed that its next watch will indeed be named the Samsung Galaxy Watch when the same reportedly showed up on Samsung’s own website in the US about a week ago.
That been said, Samsung hasn’t exactly confirmed when it is it will unveil the Galaxy watch, however, the device in the past few days has cleared virtually all major regulatory hurdles with the most recent being approval from the FCC, hinting at a near release date.

Well, the Galaxy watch once again has been approved by the National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) which once again suggest the device might actually be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note 9 which is due for August 9. The NRRA has certified four different variants of the Galaxy Watch – SM-R800, SM-R805N, SM-R810, and SM-R815N, and sadly, the certification page hasn’t given any detail information on the Galaxy Watch, but there are speculations that these variants might be the rumored screen-size options and LTE versions of the upcoming smartwatch.
A lot has already been revealed about the upcoming galaxy watch, however, there are conflicting reports on what seems to be the most important – the OS the smartwatch will run. While some reports that Samsung might be retaining its own Tizen operating system, a section of the media reports that might not pan out, as the firm is reportedly switching to Google’s newly revamped Wear OS.
