Samsung Smart TV launches a remote access feature


Samsung Electronics recently announced remote access capabilities in its smart TV product line and its applicability will be active from 2019. With this remote access feature, a good connection between PCs, tablets, and smartphones can be achieved wirelessly and all compatible programs will be controlled remotely. Wireless keyboards, mouse and other impute devices can be connected to the Samsung Smart TVs and users can remotely access the PC without a separate HDMI cable. Furthermore, web browser-based cloud office services can be accessed via remote access, so users can now access files and use smart TV to process documents.

Samsung Electronics executive vice president of visual display business, Hyogun Lee, said. “Samsung is committed to creating an intuitive and convenient user experience for consumers. With remote access, consumers will be able to easily access various programs, applications and cloud services installed on multiple connected devices via the TV screen,”…”We will continue to work with our partners to extend the compatibility of remote access and provide more services to our users.”

Samsung partnered with VMware Horizon, a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution to develop this feature and both companies are confident that it can be used in any part of the world. Shankar Iyer, senior vice president of VMware said

“Samsung and VMware are passionate about helping employees maximize their productivity. We continue to expand our partnerships so that remote workers can access virtual desktops, applications, and online services from their favorite Samsung devices, including Samsung Smart TV. This is a seamless experience,”

Wireless connectivity is usually susceptible to security issues but Samsung already has its proprietary Knox security technology taking care of all possible software threats since 2015. Knox is used in all Samsung smart TV and it provides protection and firmware update support.

    LOL. I have last year pretty new Samsung TV series 6. It’s connectivity is at level of brick 😀
