Omate Ice Ring Debuts with Premium Design and Features

Omate Ice Ring

Omate has officially announced the Ice Ring. Even though this isn’t the brand’s first smart ring, it’s the most solid offering to date. The ring comes with an eye-catching design, boasts enhanced features, and sports a premium build.

You get all of that for a not-so-premium price tag. The Omate Ice Ring costs EUR199, which is around US$220. In comparison, Ultrahuman Ring Air, with similar features and build, has a price tag of US$349. It is currently available in Europe through Louis Pion and Ice-Watch. And it’s about to drop in North America in Q1 of next year.

Build Quality

One of the biggest standout features of the Omate Ice Ring is the build. The smart ring is made of titanium alloy, which makes it offer a premium feel. To top that off, it features a slim and minimalistic design. More specifically, the ring is 2.5 mm thick and weighs 2.9 grams, which is pretty lightweight.

Omate Smart Ring Silver

To make sure that you can take the smart ring with you anywhere you go, Omate made the Ice Ring get the IP68 rating. This means you can take it with you to the beach or swim with it without worrying about causing any damage to its internals.

As for the fit, the Omate Ice Ring is available in six different sizes. Each of them is available in three different colors: Space Black, Silver, and Gold.

Health and Fitness Features of Omate Ice Ring

The Omate Ice Ring comes with a lot of features. It boasts health monitoring features, which include heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, blood oxygen level tracking, and much more. The smart ring can also do stress monitoring, activity tracking, and blood pressure monitoring.

In addition, the Ice Ring can make it easier to meet your fitness goats. It has activity tracking and features support for multiple sports modes. You can also record the route you’re taking during outdoor activities. It offers that through GPS and Google Maps on your smartphone. All of these make this smart ring a proper alternative to your fitness tracker.

Sleep Monitoring Omate Ice Ring

Moreover, the Omate Ice Ring can do an in-depth sleep analysis. It tracks four stages of sleep: REM, Light Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Awake. After the smart ring does the analysis, its algorithm gives a sleep score, which ranges from 0 to 100. On this scale, the higher the score, the better you slept last night.

You can also get a detailed analysis of your sleep through the companion app. The app also offers in-depth data on your blood oxygen levels, heart rate, and other activities that the Omate Ice Ring tracks. And the good part is that the app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Internals, Connectivity, and Other Features

As for what powers the Omate Ice Ring, it’s a GR5515GGBD chipset from Goodix. The chip has 1MB of onboard storage. For wireless connections, the smart ring features Bluetooth 5.1. And regarding its battery life, it features a 20 mAh cell.

Internals

While this battery capacity may seem very small, Omate says that the Ice Ring can last for four to six days with normal usage. And it features a standby time of 10 days, which is pretty much in line with the battery life that smartwatches offer these days.

Charging Cradle

When it comes to charging the Omate Ice Ring, it bundles with a magnetic charging cradle. It can get the internal battery from 0 to 100% in 30 minutes. Again, this charging speed aligns with what smartwatches can offer these days.
